Watch our new film for Art Basel Qatar!

We’ve worked closely with MCH-Global and Art Basel to document the full build, creative set-up, and launch of the inaugural edition of Art Basel Qatar – an historic event organised in partnership between Art Basel, Qatar Sports Investments, QC+ / Qatar Museums, QIS, Visit Qatar, and UBS.

We captured two complete days of installation before delivering full live production coverage for the VIP Preview Day event on Feb 2nd.

Our incredible team – comprising four camera operators, an aerial drone unit, two producers, one director, four production managers, two photographers with camera assistants dedicated video village and four editors! – aligned in real time with our client team and showrunner to co-ordinate and capture the evening’s key moments, before working through the night to manage DIT, edit, and deliver the event film in a lightning-fast turnaround.

The centrepiece for the VIP event was a spectacular performance created by the world-renowned conceptual artist, Jenny Holzer, using two immersive mediums. Simultaneous projections of powerful poetry by Mahmoud Darwish and Nujoom Alghanem were set against the main façade and the inner courtyard of the Museum of Islamic Art, and accompanied by a astonishing, choreographed performance of 700 drones that lit up the Doha night sky.

This stunning experience provided a powerful, shared moment of silence and reflection for the audience, allowing them to be fully present and absorb themselves in a truly magical moment, and set the scene for #ArtBaselQatar week as it commences an incredible year for art across the Gulf – and you can watch it here.
